Mark Wahlberg shares views on stopping 9/11

The tragedy of September 11, 2001 is still present on many people's minds, not only due to the horrific events but also the state of paranoid fear and war environment that it has sent our nation into.  However, in a recent interview with Men's Journal, Mark Wahlberg says that the attacks may have went differently had he not decided to reschedule the flight he was originally supposed to be on that morning.  He is quoted as follows:
“If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn’t have went down like it did. There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, ‘OK, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry.’
Now, this may seem a bit odd for Wahlberg to say in response to the question, and many are taking this and having a sarcasm fueled field day, like the hilarious article over at the A.V. Club.  But if you think about it, he is saying what I'm sure many a citizen would be saying.  Whether his comment is more based on emotion or on realistic probability is rather obvious, but it is quite the response.  You really can't blame him for saying this, it is a reaction many have.  The circumstances as to which he avoided this are fascinating, and according to him, maybe it would have been better if he had.

Also, he states that he cried several times throughout the Help with his wife.  Which is equally fascinating.

Wahlberg currently stars in Contraband, which is out in theaters now.
